When you are bored, write.
When you are excited, write.
When you are somewhere in between bored and excited but just aren’t sure exactly how to express the sentiment in words, write.
When you are having a bad day, write.
When you are having a great day, write.
When you are having one of those days that feels like it’s never going to end and you just can’t seem to find your equilibrium, write.
When the words are flowing like a fountain of knowledge, write.
When the words just won’t come and you can’t seem to even string a few legible sentences together to save your life; grab an extra large cup of the strongest coffee you can find, a dictionary and a thesaurus, sip, read, then write.
When you are on top of the world and everything is going right, write.
When you are completely down in the dumps and void of all positive motivation, definitely write.
When you have been writing so much that you are on the verge of a nervous breakdown, you haven’t left your desk for days, your eyes are bloodshot and swollen from staring at the screen and your head is pounding; for goodness’ sake get up, go out and do something!
Then come back, and write.
